Using a saved photo as your background

Good Morning!
Using a saved photo as a background
Personalize your screen

Last week I showed you how to save a photo from within an e-mail to your hard drive. Today I'll show you how to use one of your saved photos as your screen background (also called wallpaper).

RIGHT click on a blank area of your desktop. A shortcut menu will pop up. LEFT click Properties at the bottom of this list. A dialog box will open. LEFT click the Desktop tab. The Display Properties dialog box will open. LEFT click Browse to the right of the list of available images. This will open My Pictures. If the picture you want to use is in a folder, double click the folder. If not, find the photo you want to use and double click it. Then LEFT click OK.

Wasn't that easy? There are so many things you can change on your computer screen. If you have Taming Your Computer -- The Simple Basics and Beyond, review pages 9-25 to learn how to use them. Try one new thing each day for a week and congratulate yourself on your accomplishments! If you haven't ordered your copy yet, click here to do so.

About Me

My photo
I love teaching senior citizens to use computers. I'm a senior myself, so I'm working with my peers. When I work with you in your home on your computer, I don't sit in front of your computer and TELL you want to do. You sit in front of your computer while I TEACH you what to do. I also write step-by-step instructions for you to follow when I'm not there.
