Printing on smaller paper

$Account.OrganizationName
Dear Barb,
Printing on smaller paper

I've been asked many times how to adjust a document to print on smaller sheets of paper, such as stationery that's 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". In Microsoft Word it's quite simple.

With a blank document on your screen, left click File on the Menu Bar at the top of your screen. Then left click Page Set up on the drop down menu. Left click the Paper tab. Click in the box beside "width" and type in the width of your paper, say 5.5". Then left click in the box beside "height" and type the height of your paper, 8.5". Now click the Margins tab. Your current margins of 1" top, bottom and sides, will not leave you much room to type on this smaller piece of paper. Click in each of the margin boxes and type .5". Then click OK. This also works with greeting cards. I frequently buy greeting cards that are blank on the inside (message area) and type my own message.

About Me

My photo
I love teaching senior citizens to use computers. I'm a senior myself, so I'm working with my peers. When I work with you in your home on your computer, I don't sit in front of your computer and TELL you want to do. You sit in front of your computer while I TEACH you what to do. I also write step-by-step instructions for you to follow when I'm not there.
